Family Fun at Manoa Falls

As one of our last activities before Jan and John left, we hiked to Manoa Falls and enjoyed the birds, flowers and waterfall. As someone who usually hikes this pretty fast to get to the endpoint, it was so good to hike with Jan and John. Since they had never hiked it before, they took the time and kept their eyes open for exotic flowers, plants, etc., which made me slow down as well!

Pu’u ‘Ualaka’a Lookout

Today, my aunt and I headed up Tantalus Drive toward the Pu’u ‘Ualaka’a Lookout (what Josh and I commonly refer to as “Tantalus”). It has amazing views of the city from Diamond Head all the way past Pearl Harbor. The views are absolutely stunning!

Diamond Head Round Two

Last week, I hiked Diamond Head for the second time with my mom and Josh. It was great, because the last time I hiked it, it was super rainy and the views were not all that wonderful. This time it was a HOT and sunny day, so the views were great and it was a decent workout! Afterwards, we headed to Diamond Head Cove Health Bar for my favorite açai bowl and then to Diamond Head Beach Park to see what it was like.

Conquering My Fear

At the end of October I will work on conquering one of my biggest fears: the ocean. I am set to get my scuba certification in three quick days. Gear has been purchased (so I can practice and get comfortable with it). Fingers crossed I don’t panic!

Rainbow Drive-In

On Sunday, I forced Josh to go to Rainbow Drive-In with me to finally try a loco moco. I was pleasantly surprised…it was actually pretty good, but I wouldn’t want to eat more than a few bites. It was very filling!

Corner Kitchen

On Saturday night, Josh and I ventured to Corner Kitchen. I had purchased a groupon a couple months ago and it was about to expire. With the reviews I had read, I set my expectations pretty low. However, the food was amazing! We had wonderful sushi and their special platter. Definitely will be going back!

Poi Dog Platter: Kal-Bi, Crispy Crunchy Ribs and Karaage Chicken.

911 HELP: California roll topped with spicy tuna drizzled with sriracha.

USS Missouri

Our final stop of the day from our tour of Ford Island on Sunday was the USS Missouri. Last year, Josh, my mom and I toured the USS Midway in San Diego (which was awesome) and this was pretty similar. The Midway was definitely larger than the Missouri, but both were pretty cool experiences!
