Today, Prevent Child Abuse Hawaii hosted their 16th Annual Teddy Bear Round-Up! People from around the area were asked to donate a gently used or new teddy bear or stuffed animal. We collected over 9,100 stuffed animals to be donated to shelters, CFS and other organizations across the Hawaiian islands that support families in crisis and children in need in Hawaii. It was a great turnout and I’m so thankful to be able to help out with such a wonderful organization!

The Fierce Lioness Pack!
Today was the first day of our “Girls Club” with our girls at the Boys and Girls Club. Ms. Tia and are running the program to help the girls learn how to be comfortable with themselves, empower them to feel good about who they are, learn healthy habits and create positive relationships. Today we created our “The Awesome Rights of the Fierce Lioness Pack” which is the Bill of RIghts for our group. All of the girls contributed. They make me so proud! They are pictured below with the rights on the board behind them.

Kailua Farmers’ Market
I look forward to the Kailua Farmers’ Market every week…it’s definitely a highlight and something SO fun to look forward to. I love trying something new every week. This week we had fried green tomatoes (I had to try them because it is the favorite of one of my kids at work), corn and crab chowder, cajun ono with fried rice and chocolate chip gelato for dessert.

Formaggio Fete!
Formaggio Fete is the fundraiser for the Boys and Girls Club Windward Clubhouse and we had a blast working it! Below are two of my wonderful coworkers that I am lucky enough to work with every day. Josh came to support us all as we ran around like crazy talking to people and taking pictures! It was SUCH a fun night!
Diamond Head Cove Health Bar
Today, Josh and I headed East for lunch at Diamond Head Cove Health Bar. We wanted to try something new and wanted it to be healthy. We split the Fish Wrap and the Da “Mana” Cove Bowl (Double acai topped with organic granola, blueberries, strawberries, banana, bee polin and honey). They both were amazing and I would highly recommend a trip there if you’re visiting Oahu!
Ali’i Tour
Yesterday at work, we took the kids to the Ali’i Tour at Kualoa Ranch. It was a lot of fun and so pretty! After, we went to Kualoa Beach Park for lunch and games. It was a beautiful day out and I really enjoyed getting to be outside so much. I love my job and am so thankful I am getting to do fun things like this! I am learning so much from the kids…including pronouncing things correctly as well as a lot about the Hawaiian culture. It’s been a blast!
